Our Student's
Experience...
"The art of
teaching is the art of assisting discovery."

"Jayne
is well read and up-to-date on Iyengar Yoga practice. It is
obvious that she truly cares about her students and strives to provide a
safe yet challenging learning environment. She has a soothing,
secure voice and approach, which appeals to the spiritual side. I
leave class smiling, always having learned something new." - K.

"I am most grateful to Jayne for all of her assistance in working with
my chronic lower back problems. Having endured back pain since
1987,
strengthening
my back and controlling the periodic pain were my primary yoga practice
objectives. Thanks to Jayne's personal concern and careful
instruction, I have made great progress toward better lower back health.
This was put to the test during the March blizzard, when I had to shovel
a few tons of snow off of my roof, knowing that if I didn't if would
collapse.
After shoveling for a few
hours I began to feel some serious pain in my back. Jayne had
worked with me on a modified Warrior II pose that I could do at my
kitchen counter. So, I went back into my house threw down my
sticky mat and did about 20 minutes of yoga. I noticed my back
loosening and the pain subsiding. For me, this was a miracle.
I went back up two more times to shovel and both times were preceded by
my kitchen yoga practice.
This was an exciting and
life-changing experience for me. Now I throw down my mat and do my
modified Warrior II whenever lower back pain strikes. Thanks so
much for your help and support! Your the best!"

"Jayne,
When I started studying Iyengar yoga with Jayne 10
months ago, my chronic conditions were really out of control, daily TMJ
headaches, constant muscle pain from fibromyalgia, and lots of stiffness
from rheumatoid arthritis. Even after just a few classes, I began
to notice a dramatic improvement in my aches, pains, and strength.
Now, with weekly classes and daily practice at home,
I have noticeable muscular definition and the ability to do things I
never thought I'd be able to do again. Jayne has helped me to face
and accept my physical limitations while challenging my boundaries in
the areas where I can grow. It is such a gift to have an
instructor with her sensitivity and creativity; I always feel that she
understands what my needs are and she always finds a way to address
them. Jayne's teaching also encourages us to see the connections
between our yoga practice and the situations in our lives. I know
I wouldn't be going back to school this fall if I hadn't looked at my
fears, ego, and stubbornness from my new perspectives [like upside
down!], but I still appreciate how Jayne's realism and sense of humor
keeps me from taking myself TOO seriously. Iyengar yoga has
changed my life and future by restoring my body and mind, and Jayne has
guided me gently but firmly through the process of building a strong
foundation."

"Dear
Jayne,
Thank you so much for the private yoga session, I really enjoyed it. We
did supported back bends in Donita's class today and I felt like they
were much easier because of Tuesday with you. In fact, it was the first
time I can really say I had NO lower back pain. It's good to have
you in my life.
Thanks for being you!
-Love, Robin-
It makes
me appreciate what students have to endure if the class is not
interactive. I also, greatly appreciate your sense of humor, candor and
overall support that you give to your students. I never got the
opportunity to see you teach children, but know that you definitely were
and continue to be a master teacher. Your passion and sincerity are
apparent to all of us yoga students and colleagues. Thanks for your
willingness to share your knowledge and passion of yoga.

Dear
Jayne,
Just wanted to let you know that I
thoroughly enjoyed last night's yoga class! Whatever you had for lunch,
I want it. Ha Ha It was great to see you so enthusiastic about teaching
our class. Not that you ever seem uninterested or unenthusiastic, it was
just more apparent last night.
Have a great rest of the week!
